Blooming in the Wait: Lessons from Life’s Holding Patterns
This week has been one full of celebration, reflection, and a whole lot of heart.
We would’ve celebrated my mom and dad’s 75th wedding anniversary—what a legacy of love. Even though they’re no longer here to celebrate in person, I felt them so close. My sister came to visit, which includes lots of laughs, good food and maybe a new cocktail! Our grandson is here too, soaking up every moment with his Papa and giving me a little time too, but his days are filled with so much fun … from early morning chores of feeding the shop kitties, lunch with the crew, gator rides & running the riding mower, it's the kind of week that reminds you what really matters.
And even while I'm working on certifications and building Prairie Bloom Media from the ground up, I’ve realized something powerful: I’m learning to hold space for me.
Not in a hustle-harder, fake-it-till-you-make-it kind of way. But in a deep, grounded, God-is-working-even-when-I-don’t-see-it kind of way.
I’m in a season of waiting. Maybe you are too. That in-between space can feel like a fog some days—like you’re standing still while the world spins fast around you. But here's what I’m learning: I can be content right here. I can be calm even when circumstances aren’t. I can change, grow, and stay rooted, even if nothing else around me does.
And that’s not weakness—that’s emotional resilience. That’s faith. That’s growth.
So if you’re in the “not-yet” season like me, know this: it’s not wasted. God’s timing isn’t late, it’s perfect. And maybe, just maybe, this is where the most beautiful blooming begins.
🌱 Journaling Prompt
I recently heard a quote that stopped me in my tracks:
“Legacy is not what your kids inherit – it’s what they internalize.” – Dr. Edie Wadsworth
Take a moment today to reflect:
➡️ What do you hope those around you internalize from the way you live, love, and lead—especially in the hard or quiet seasons?
➡️ What kind of legacy are you planting in the pause?
Write from your heart. No pressure for perfect words—just presence and truth. This is how healing begins. 🌸
If this spoke to you, I’d love to hear your story. Drop a comment or come chat with me over on Prairie Bloom Media’s Facebook Page. We’re all just blooming in the wait together.
With Grit & Grace,
Lynda
